Fluoridated Water Illness

It might be the fluoridated water...Are you tired? Have you been diagnosed with fibromyalgia or rheumatoid arthritis? Have you developed a hypothyroid condition? Have you experienced hair thinning and loss that is not genetic pattern baldness? Do your joints or tendons ache? Have your feet started hurting, particularly in the morning? Have you experienced broken or chipped teeth? Have you experienced fractures yet bone scans are normal? Do you have difficulty falling asleep or wake frequently through the night? Do leg cramps rob you of sleep? If you answered yes to any of those questions and you live in a water district that artificially fluoridates your water then you will want to read this article.

First, there is a lot of confusion between artificially fluoridated water and naturally fluoridated water. The argument for adding fluoridation to municipal drinking water is that people who live in areas with naturally fluoridated water have stronger teeth with fewer cavities. The studies were conducted from 1945- 1950 and were conducted only on children, not on mature adults. Only cavities were measured, and the studies lasted only 6 years. Today we would not consider that good science. The difference is that naturally fluoridated water usually contains .1ppm, that is one part per million, of calcium fluoride. People who consume this water have approximately 27% fewer cavities than people who consume non fluoridated water.

 Communities having above 1.5ppm in naturally fluoridated water have health issues, illness, that include dental fluorosis (hypomineralization) thyroid issues such as goiter and hypothyroidism, high infertility rates, lower IQ, and skeletal fluorosis. Studies in India and China have repeatedly documented skeletal fluorosis at levels as low as 0.7 to 1.5 ppm fluoride. Small studies  in the United States  have reported advanced skeletal fluorosis in kidney patients at 1.7 ppm, (Johnson 1979) and crippling skeletal fluorosis at just 2.2 to 3.5 ppm. (Sauerbrunn 1965).

Municipal water fluoridation is achieved by using one of 3 chemicals, none of which are calcium fluoride;  Fluorosilicic acid, sodium fluorosilicate or sodium fluoride. These are derived from industrial waste products. Fluoridation levels can be quite high, a community in my State of South Carolina in Horry County fluoridates to 5ppm. Surrounding counties approach that level and most fluoridate to at least 3ppm. A person using fluoride toothpaste could easily consume 8ppm daily, as could a tea drinker because fluoride naturally occurs in green and black tea. An individual who moves to an area that fluoridates water can have subtle symptoms of illness at first, as their skeleton demineralizes. Those symptoms might be anxiety, chronic stiffness in muscles and joints, tooth grinding and chipping, brain fog and frequent small injuries.   Fluoride interferes with the body’s mechanism for regulating calcium; the teeth rapidly become demineralized and useless calcium is deposited in the joints. Demineralization as a process creates bone spurs and calcium deposits in the bone surrounding tendons. Excess calcium narrows the channels the tendons move through; the tendons can become swollen and tender or pop out of the narrowed channel. The teeth may chip, and ironically be more prone to cavities. The tips of the teeth might appear translucent in color. Bone fractures occur and yet bone scans may show normal bone density.

As fluoride interferes with the thyroid and parathyroid glands, weight gain, memory loss,  hair loss and water retention are common symptoms. Nocturnal waking, leg cramps, fatigue and symptoms of fibromyalgia are common secondary symptoms.

In cases of full skeletal fluorosis, symptoms often resemble rheumatic arthritis with the addition of chronic fatigue, digestive issues, and muscle pain. This illness is often misdiagnosed as arthritis and the patient is given toxic rheumatism medicines which do not work but do damage the liver. Research shows that individual susceptibility to fluorosis varies greatly across the population, both with respect to the doses and duration of exposure that can cause the disease, and the skeletal manifestations and symptoms that result. Some people with advanced skeletal fibrosis have no overt symptoms while other individuals have severe symptoms with a much lower exposure.

What does work? A mineralization protocol can protect you from the worst of the chemical additive. The first defense is taking a daily calcium supplement containing calcium hydroxyapatite. Take this with food. Calcium intake buffers some of the effects of fluoride. Use a topical magnesium cream or oil daily on the legs if you are experiencing leg cramps. Next, use a common drugstore first aid product, Iodine Tincture and apply one drop topically to each inner elbow crease daily. Third, purchase common borax (borax only, not detergent added) used in laundry or chemically pure borax and add ¼ tsp to a gallon of distilled water. Add 1 ounce of Vital Earth Mineral Blend Fulvic Humic to that water and drink the entire gallon each day. If you are elderly, have a small frame, or have kidney disease then take half a gallon a day instead of a gallon. Do not drink tap water. Refrain from using a toothpaste containing fluoride and from drinking green or black tea.

Fluoride is extremely difficult to remove entirely from tap water; a common water filter, even a good one, will not work. A reverse osmosis system does work but you would still need to add minerals to the water. Drinking demineralized water further damages the skeletal system. If possible, use a whole house filter rated to remove fluoride, as fluoride is absorbed by the skin during showers and baths. If removing fluoride from your water supply is not possible then follow the mineralization protocol to mitigate fluoride illness.

2-3 capsules daily MRM Bone Maximizer III daily

½ to 1 gallon distill water with ¼ tsp borax and fulvic-humic minerals added
